Job description
As an Implementation Engineer in the Digital Custom Group at Apple, you will play a crucial role in designing and manufacturing high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions. You will work closely with a talented team to define performance, power, and area (PPA) targets for upcoming products. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development of custom circuits and SRAM designs. Your contributions will directly impact the functionality of Apple's flagship products, enabling millions of customers to enjoy innovative technology.
Requirements
- MS in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience within a SoC design cycle, developing custom circuits and SRAM/Register File for low power, low voltage, and high performance
- Knowledge of Cache design/architecture and memory hierarchy
- Solid understanding of industry-standard design tools
- Deep understanding of nanometer device physics, leakage mechanisms, and technology interactions with device behavior
- Experience with Gen AI, Machine Learning algorithms (ML), and scripting is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform design analysis to define PPA targets for current and future tech nodes
- Collaborate with an extraordinary SRAM and custom circuit team to formulate design specifications
- Conduct layout and simulations to establish PPA trends
- Finalize the list of SRAMs and custom designs to be built for next SoCs/products
- Work with cross-functional design teams to define specifications, track dependencies, and provide technical solutions
- Track design development of SRAMs and other custom designs for schedule, specification closure, PPA, and quality
