Job description

The Companion Device Services team at Apple is seeking an energetic and creative software engineer to enhance the Apple Watch platform. This role involves building infrastructure that supports the unique relationship between the watch and other devices. The engineer will work closely with various software teams and cross-functional partners to improve pairing and communication technologies. The position focuses on innovating the user experience for new Apple Watch users during setup and pairing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Proficient in Objective-C and Swift.
  • Experience building high traffic system frameworks and related infrastructure.
  • Experience optimizing applications and profiling throughout the stack.
  • Hands-on experience with inter-process communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and drive large scale projects across different levels of the stack.

Responsibilities

  • Build solutions that unlock the power of the Apple Watch.
  • Collaborate with the networking team and other partners to develop and improve communication technologies.
  • Work with design and QA partners to define user-facing goals for technologies.
  • Innovate and improve the setup and pairing experience for new Apple Watch users.
  • Expand on existing complex projects and systems.
