Job description
Join the Messages team on watchOS at Apple, where innovation meets communication. As a software engineer, you will help build features that enhance user connectivity through the Apple Watch. Your work will involve collaborating with designers and other teams to create high-quality experiences. This role focuses on developing and optimizing software for a low-powered device while ensuring a seamless user experience.
Requirements
- 3+ years of related experience
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 3 years of experience in Objective-C or Swift
- Proven experience contributing to at least one application or framework
- A consistent track record of delivering projects on time and within specifications
- Familiarity with systems and hands-on experience with inter-process communication
- Experience optimizing applications and profiling across the entire stack
- Adaptability, results orientation, and a positive attitude
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience improving and expanding on existing complex projects and systems
- Experience defining and driving large scale projects across different levels of the stack
- Experience with both SwiftUI and UIKit lifecycle apps
Responsibilities
- Work with designers to turn ideas into meaningful prototypes and demo them to stakeholders
- Write high quality, well tested, and performant code to develop prototypes into polished experiences
- Architect systems that are extensible, adaptable, and stand the test of time
- Profile and optimize cutting-edge features to run well on a low-powered, highly-constrained device
- Work daily with quality assurance teams to find and fix bugs, edge cases, and performance issues
