Job description
The Manufacturing Test Engineer role at Google focuses on developing and optimizing test platforms for compute, storage, and machine learning servers in collaboration with global manufacturing partners. This position is part of a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of custom silicon solutions that enhance Google's product offerings. The engineer will be responsible for driving improvements in test processes and addressing manufacturing yield issues. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and collaborative efforts to ensure high-quality product performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering experience.
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing or Test Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of experience developing and integrating manufacturing test hardware using custom electronics, fixturing, or instrumentation.
- Experience coding in Python, Bash, or Shell scripting to generate product-specific test plans and executing test processes accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, optimize and deploy test platforms for Google compute/storage/ML servers at the global manufacturing partners.
- Collaborate with the NPI team to define design for test (DFT) requirements and contribute input to Manufacturing Test Strategy.
- Deliver caliber Manufacturing Test Engineering support for new and existing products.
- Drive initiatives to improve test process efficiencies, improve test coverage, and reduce cost.
- Analyze, troubleshoot and identify root causes of manufacturing yield issues and data center field escapes while driving issues to closure with corrective and preventive measures.
