Job description

This role is for a talented engineer to join Apple's physical design machine learning architecture team. The team focuses on crafting methodologies and solutions that significantly impact upcoming products. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams to optimize Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) for SOCs. This position offers the opportunity to work on advanced machine learning algorithms and contribute to the development of efficient application processors.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Understanding of optimization algorithms, complex data structures, and/or linear algebra
  • Understanding of VLSI fundamentals, including physical design
  • Practical experience and knowledge in advanced machine learning algorithms like GNNs, VAEs, transformers, diffusion models, and LLMs
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and C/C++
  • Master's or PhD with relevant publications in Machine Learning and/or EDA algorithms
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Use experience in physical design and machine learning to solve complex problems
  • Impact various areas of the flow including RTL design, logic synthesis, and floor planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, power, post silicon, CAD, software, and machine learning teams
