Job description

The Analog Mixed Signal IP Engineer will take ownership of analog IP from external vendors to ensure it meets Apple's high quality standards. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams within Apple and external vendors, focusing on integrating IP into mobile devices. The engineer will work on defining requirements, supervising design and characterization, and supporting integration teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative products that enhance the lives of millions of customers.

Requirements

  • BSEE/MSEE degree plus a minimum of 7 years of experience in analog IC design.
  • Hands-on design expertise in at least 3 of the following areas: LDO, ADC, DAC, PLL, Serdes, bandgap reference, filter design, and switched capacitor circuit design.
  • Solid understanding of transistor device characteristics, especially in advanced CMOS processes.
  • Solid understanding of power, area, and performance trade-offs in mixed-signal designs.
  • Knowledge of analog IC design flow and tools.
  • Experience with standards like PCI Express, MIPI, USB, or DisplayPort is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong initiative and ownership of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Define and specify requirements for analog IP provided by external vendors.
  • Drive technical discussions with vendors and foundries.
  • Supervise IP design, characterization, and debug.
  • Review and sign off on IP design, tools, flow, collaterals, test plans, and characterization reports.
  • Support Apple IP integration teams including front-end design, design verification, physical design, DFT, TE/PE, and SIPI.
  • Support Apple system teams with product integration, hardware/software bring-up, and debug.
