Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in hardware engineering or a related occupation.
- System-level knowledge, including hardware, software, and their interactions.
- Experience with mobile phone hardware subsystems, including application processor, multimedia, GPU, modem, and wifi.
- Proficiency in optimizing software for power and performance improvements.
- Familiarity with Linux kernel and Android system.
- Experience in debugging and root cause analysis for system issues.
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional hardware and software teams to model power consumption and define power targets.
- Analyze and optimize the software running across key components of the chipset like CPU, GPU, Memory Subsystem, and Connectivity.
- Debug and resolve battery drain issues.
- Collaborate with Android app teams across Google to help them optimize power.
- Develop tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption.
