Job description
As a CPU CDC/RDC/STA Engineer at Apple, you will be integral in analyzing designs and driving fixes while developing and maintaining Lint, Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), Reset Domain Crossing (RDC), and Static Timing Analysis (STA) constraints for CPUs. You will collaborate with various teams including RTL and DV to ensure the integrity of designs and methodologies. Your role will also involve debugging vendor tool issues and working closely with EDA vendors to enhance methodologies. This position requires a strong background in CDC and RDC, along with significant industry experience.
Requirements
- Minimum BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with Clock-Domain Crossing (CDC) and Reset Domain Crossing (RDC)
- Experience with at least one of the following tools: Synopsys or Real Intent
- Scripting experience in TCL or Perl
- Experience in Verilog
- Experience in SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and Design Verification (DV) Simulations
- Experience in multi-clock-domain RTL design
- Knowledge in Spyglass, VC-Static, PrimeTime, or Meridian is a plus
Responsibilities
- Develop, improve, and maintain the CDC and RDC sign-offs for CPU designs
- Work with RTL and DV teams to recommend System Verilog assertions needed to support CDC/RDC/STA constraints and assumptions
- Highlight CDC/RDC issues to the RTL team and recommend solutions while educating them on the importance of structurally safe solutions
- Develop, enhance, and maintain key STA checks and associated sign-offs for CPUs
- Debug vendor tool problems and collaborate with designers to solve their issues
- Work closely with EDA vendor representatives to drive improvements and new methodologies
- Collaborate with RTL, Verification, CAD, and Physical Design teams
