Job description

This role involves joining a dedicated team of engineers focused on transforming hardware technology at Apple. The ideal candidate will work on ASIC design, contributing to the development of innovative memory system architectures. This position offers the opportunity to craft products that will delight millions of customers. The team values passion and dedication, aiming to leave a positive impact on the world through their work.

Requirements

  • Experience in ASIC design with architecture research and/or development of memory or highly interconnected system architectures.
  • Familiarity with RTL/micro-architecture.
  • Knowledge of high-performance memory subsystems, including DRAM controller, PHY architecture and design, DFI interface, and DRAM interface calibration/training mechanisms and algorithms is a plus.
  • Systems experience in characterizing performance, conducting comparison studies, and documenting and publishing results.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 0+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new memory system architectures from DRAM up.
  • Explore architecture and feature trade-offs in system performance, area, and power consumption.
  • Develop memory hierarchies for high-performance parallel computer architectures, specifically system-on-a-chip (SoC).
  • Work with the performance team to develop performance/power simulators, models, and test suites.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
