Job description

This role involves designing and developing software for graphics processing unit (GPU) drivers for Apple silicon GPUs. The position focuses on ensuring high performance work scheduling on the GPU across various Apple products. The team is responsible for implementing workload scheduling and optimizing driver and firmware performance. Additionally, the role includes validating GPU features for new System-on-Chips and integrating GPU drivers into iOS/macOS software.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering or related field
  • 3 years of experience in software development or a related occupation
  • 3 years of experience utilizing C/C++/assembly for multi-language codebases
  • 3 years of experience using GPU programming technologies such as CUDA
  • 3 years of experience developing system software features for GPU workload scheduling
  • 3 years of experience debugging hardware and software issues with architectural knowledge
  • 3 years of experience designing low level embedded software interfaces for CPU and GPU
  • 3 years of experience utilizing parallel computer architecture skills for GPU hardware reviews
  • 3 years of experience utilizing C/C++/Python for writing test libraries

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software for GPU drivers for Apple silicon GPUs.
  • Ensure high performance work scheduling on the GPU across Apple products.
  • Implement and evaluate workload scheduling and quality of service policies.
  • Validate GPU and firmware features for new System-on-Chips post-silicon.
  • Create and maintain the kernel mode driver and firmware for Apple's embedded devices.
  • Integrate GPU drivers into iOS/macOS software.
  • Provide data for performance and debugging tools.
  • Complete performance analysis and tuning of software and hardware.
  • Perform specification reviews and contribute ideas for next generation GPU and iOS/macOS.
