Job description
The Design Verification Engineer role at Apple focuses on verifying the functionality and performance of Apple's premier SOCs. This position is critical within Apple's Hardware Technology team, which collaborates across various fields in chip design. The engineer will ensure the quality of SOCs, IPs, or subsystems by reviewing specifications and working closely with design and micro-architecture teams. The role requires developing test plans and methodologies while communicating effectively with various stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of a BS degree with 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Skilled in digital verification processes, including constrained random verification, functional coverage, and assertion methodology.
- Knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog, digital simulation, and debugging.
- Understanding of computer architecture and digital design fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently to achieve project goals.
- Exposure to UVM is desired.
- Experience with C/C++ and assembly is a plus.
- Familiarity with Perl, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to tackle diverse challenges.
Responsibilities
- Verify the functionality and performance of Apple's SOCs.
- Review design and architecture specifications.
- Collaborate with design and micro-architecture teams.
- Develop test plans, tests, and coverage plans.
- Define next-generation verification methodologies and test benches.
- Communicate and collaborate with design, architecture, and software teams.
- Run and triage regressions, track bugs, and analyze coverage.
