Job description
This role involves building frontier foundation models that enhance intelligent experiences at Apple. The team focuses on the full training lifecycle of these models, optimizing them specifically for Apple silicon. Key challenges include addressing reward modeling issues and aligning models for various tasks. The position offers the opportunity to work with a talented group of engineers and scientists on real-world applications of deep learning.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in deep learning with a publication record in relevant conferences.
- Proficient programming skills in Python and one of the deep learning toolkits such as JAX, PyTorch, or Tensorflow.
- PhD or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience in building end-to-end voice models.
- Experience in speech recognition and generation.
- Experience in reinforcement learning and on-policy distillation.
Responsibilities
- Engineer models specifically for Apple silicon and optimize them for privacy and integration.
- Solve complex problems in reward modeling and align models across various tasks.
- Collaborate with a team to tackle challenges in foundation models and deep learning.
- Apply deep learning techniques to real-world use cases.
- Code large language models and work on post-training and mid-training approaches.
