Job description

The Core OS organization is looking for an extraordinary engineer to join the Process Management and Device Attestation team. This team focuses on system services that manage the lifecycle of applications and authenticate genuine Apple devices. The role requires a strong understanding of operating system fundamentals and involves participation in all stages of software development. The engineer will work on system services that interact with various parts of the operating system, contributing to popular Apple features and optimizing system performance.

Requirements

  • Professional skill in a system software language such as C, C++, Objective-C, or Swift
  • Strong understanding of OS architecture and systems programming fundamentals
  • Experience in system services (daemon) and/or library development
  • Development experience on macOS, iOS, or other Unix-like systems
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages
  • Familiarity with cryptographic concepts and techniques
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge and experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve unit tests and performance tests
  • Participate in all stages of software development, from design to maintenance
  • Work on system services that manage the lifecycle of all categories of processes on the OS
  • Manage on-device software to authenticate genuine Apple devices
  • Interact with various parts of the operating system including media services and cryptographic key management
