Job description
This role at Apple focuses on system performance testing for LTE and NR FR1 cellular bands on upcoming devices. Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field.
- 1 year of experience in utilizing test methodologies for wireless technologies including UMTS, HSPA C2K, EVDO, LTE, and 5G NR.
- 1 year of experience in conducting early evaluations of prototypes and hardware/software systems on different 2G/3G/4G/5G wireless technologies.
- 1 year of experience in using wireless technologies to run focused experiments related to RF/OTA performance.
- 1 year of experience in testing and debugging communications systems including UMTS or C2K.
- 1 year of experience in utilizing radio protocol stack knowledge for technical reviews and test case formulation.
- 1 year of experience in utilizing RF Fundamentals for deep dive analysis into internal logs.
- 1 year of experience in analyzing system level logs for cellular technologies including LTE and 5G.
- 1 year of experience in utilizing Python and shell scripting for developing automation scripts.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for system performance testing of LTE and NR FR1 cellular bands on Apple devices.
- Plan, develop, and execute test cases to establish product performance baselines.
- Collect and analyze field logs from Apple devices on commercial telecom carriers.
- Evaluate device performance using tools such as QXDM, QCAT, and APEX.
- Work with hardware/software development teams to identify issues impacting cellular performance.
- Prepare comprehensive test plans and methodologies for testing new cellular features.
- Utilize cross-functional communication skills to collaborate with external teams.
