The role is part of Apple's Wireless Silicon Design group, focusing on developing innovative wireless communication systems. You will work on radio architecture, system performance, and physical layer algorithms to enhance wireless applications. The position requires collaboration with various engineering teams to define and specify wireless systems. Your contributions will directly impact the design and optimization of silicon for future Apple products.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree.
- Understanding of RF and analog components/modules in wireless communication systems.
- Proven track record of RF calibration algorithms for RF impairments.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++ for algorithm development.
- Hands-on experience with lab testing and characterization tools.
- MSEE/PhD with relevant experience.
- Understanding of communication theory, information theory, and signal processing algorithms.
- Analytical capability to develop solutions for physical layer design issues.
- Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols such as 5G, WiFi, or Bluetooth.
- Circuit design experience or knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Develop system models for RF/analog design and radio chain modeling.
- Evaluate radio performance across various application scenarios.
- Architect various calibration and correction methods for radio impairments.
- Collaborate with HW digital designers and architects to define wireless systems.
- Work with firmware designers to implement physical/radio compensation algorithms.
- Test, characterize, tune up, and optimize real silicon in the lab.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage.
