Job description

In this role at Apple, you will take ownership of the ESD and Latch-Up requirements for all integrated circuits developed by the company. You will work closely with diverse teams and external vendors to ensure that silicon designs meet Apple's ESD specifications and manufacturing requirements. The position requires a strong initiative and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to meet challenging deadlines. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative ESD Designer to contribute to high-quality product development within a supportive culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of transistor device characteristics is essential.
  • Solid understanding of models used for testing ESD, including HBM, CDM, MM, and IEC-61000-4-2 is necessary.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art ESD circuit design techniques and topologies is required.
  • Hands-on experience with design/layout EDA tools, including Virtuoso, Calibre, and Allegro is needed.
  • Experience with ESD/LUP test and characterization equipment is important.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality on-chip IPs immune to ESD/EOS and latchup events.
  • Ensure ESD robust designs with minimum cost to mission-mode functions.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams within Apple and external vendors.
  • Take ownership of ESD and Latch-Up requirements for all ICs developed by Apple.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
