Job description

This role at Apple involves being a key member of the CAD Group, focusing on innovative designs and methodologies for power EM/IR analysis. The position requires hands-on experience to develop and refine flows for both gate-level and transistor-level designs. You will collaborate with various design groups and work closely with EDA vendors to enhance tool capabilities. The goal is to streamline EM/IR processes while ensuring high accuracy and capacity.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a BS degree and 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Tcl, Python, or Perl.
  • Experience with EDA tools and EMIR methodologies.
  • Hands-on knowledge of industry-leading EMIR tools like Voltus, VoltusFi, RedHawk-SC, and Totem.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop custom EM/IR solutions that scale with accuracy and capacity challenges.
  • Streamline and automate the EM/IR flow with ownership of the entire process.
  • Support and collaborate with design groups on their EM/IR requirements for various post-layout flows.
  • Work alongside EDA vendors and foundries for tool qualification, debugging, and enhancement.
  • Drive initiatives with little to no oversight.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
