Job description

This role at Apple involves being a key member of the CAD Group, focusing on developing innovative designs through power EM/IR analysis. The position requires hands-on experience to refine methodologies for gate-level and transistor-level designs. You will collaborate with various design groups and EDA vendors to ensure the effectiveness of EM/IR solutions. The goal is to streamline and automate EM/IR flows while addressing accuracy and capacity challenges.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a BS degree and 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Tcl, Python, or Perl scripting languages.
  • Experience in EDA Tool, CAD flow, and EMIR methodology.
  • Hands-on knowledge of industry-leading EMIR tools such as Voltus, VoltusFi, RedHawk-SC, and Totem.
  • Experience in the analysis involved in EMIR, including extraction, timing, noise, simulation, physical design, and/or verification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop custom EM/IR solutions that scale with accuracy and capacity challenges.
  • Streamline and automate the EM/IR flow with ownership of the entire process.
  • Support and collaborate with design groups on their EM/IR requirements for various post-layout flows.
  • Work alongside EDA vendors and foundries for tool qualification, debugging, and enhancement.
  • Coordinate and drive initiatives with little to no oversight.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
