Job description

The role is part of the GPU Silicon Validation Team, which focuses on validating the functional operation, electrical behavior, power, and performance of Apple's embedded GPUs. Team members engage in test planning, execution, data analysis, and tool development. The position requires collaboration with design, verification, productization, hardware, and software teams to ensure high-quality GPU performance. The main focus is on silicon validation tasks, including functional testing and debugging complex issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Coursework in system architecture and GPU or CPU architectures is necessary.
  • Experience in C/C++ and one or more scripting languages such as Python or TCL/expect is essential.
  • Coursework in device physics and transistor behavior is required.
  • Experience debugging hardware and software issues in an embedded system is needed.
  • Ability to work in a lab environment is important.
  • Experience with system profiling features is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to read schematics is required.

Responsibilities

  • Configure system hardware and software for silicon validation.
  • Validate GPU silicon functionally and electrically.
  • Perform performance and power measurements.
  • Triage failures and debug underlying embedded GPU issues.
  • Learn and support all GPU silicon validation tasks as needed.
  • Maintain and improve automation tools for validation and debugging.
