Job description

The Health Sensing team at Apple focuses on developing innovative health sensing technologies for future products, particularly in the area of electrical sensing features like ECG for the Apple Watch. This role involves working in a highly cross-functional environment, contributing to hardware architecture design and health sensing circuit and system design. The team aims to deliver high-quality electrical health sensing features while collaborating with various teams across Apple. The position requires a strong background in mixed-signal systems and data analysis to enhance product performance and user experience.

Requirements

  • BS degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant proven experience.
  • Hands-on experience in design, debugging, and testing of mixed-signal or sensing systems.
  • Strong background in sensor interface circuit/system architecture and analog/mixed signal circuit design.
  • Proficiency in Python, Matlab, SPICE, or similar simulation tools.
  • Experience in prototyping for physiological sensor signal acquisition is a plus.
  • Familiarity with COMSOL, Ansys Q3D, or similar multi-physics simulation tools is a plus.
  • Experience in embedded system design and firmware development is a plus.
  • Knowledge of machine learning or deep learning is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct architecture design, simulation, modeling, and board level circuit and system design for health sensing products.
  • Review schematics, layout, and other design collateral for fabrication.
  • Develop analysis and modeling tools for hardware performance and perform complex system level tests.
  • Collect and process environmental and physiological data from users to draw conclusions.
  • Translate feature requirements into electrical hardware specifications and validate performance against specifications.
  • Drive the development of components and modules to meet pre-defined specifications.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to improve quality and minimize defects.
  • Drive failure analysis to understand root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Author evaluation plans and technical documentation such as Engineering Requirements Specification (ERS).
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including problem solving and requirement drafting.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
