JobsPhysical Synthesis CAD Engineer
Job description
This role focuses on improving physical synthesis techniques for Apple's processors, including CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs. The position involves developing and supporting implementation flows from RTL through GDS signoff. The expert will collaborate with design teams to create methodologies and tools that enhance performance and power efficiency. Additionally, the role includes working with EDA vendors to influence tool development and create custom solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement of a BS degree and 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with TCL, Python, or Perl scripting languages.
- Experience with industry standard synthesis tools such as Fusion Compiler or Genus.
- Experience in CAD flow or FE methodology development.
- Experience with low power implementation flows (UPF) is a plus.
- Experience with logical equivalence tools such as Conformal LEC and/or Formality is a plus.
- Experience in linting, static timing analysis, low power checks (UPF), or place and route tools is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the synthesis challenges that matter most to Apple Silicon.
- Develop and improve physical synthesis techniques through innovative scripts and automation.
- Partner closely with design teams to define effective methodologies and tools.
- Run full validation flows from RTL through place-and-route and timing signoff to demonstrate PPA improvements.
- Work directly with EDA vendors to shape tool roadmaps and build custom solutions.
