Job description

The GPU Silicon Characterization Team at Apple focuses on characterizing the behavior of embedded GPUs to optimize power and performance. Team members collaborate closely with design, verification, productization, hardware, and software teams to enable world-class GPU performance. This role involves planning, implementing, and executing validation plans that emphasize power and performance features. The position requires a strong background in silicon characterization methodology and data analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with power and performance estimation and optimization
  • Experience working in a lab environment
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Familiarity with power-management techniques such as dynamic clock & power gating and dynamic voltage frequency scaling

Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive improvements in silicon-based characterization methodology
  • Design, execute, and communicate plans to perform characterization work
  • Configure system hardware and software for silicon characterization
  • Lead failure triage and debug of underlying issues
  • Develop, maintain, and improve automation tools
