Job description

The GPU Silicon Characterization Team at Apple focuses on characterizing the behavior of embedded GPUs to optimize power and performance. This role involves collaborating with various teams including design, verification, and software to enable world-class GPU performance. The position requires planning and executing validation plans that emphasize power and performance features. Team members will also engage in data analysis and tool development to enhance GPU efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Academic coursework in computer architecture and CMOS VLSI.
  • Experience with power and performance estimation and optimization.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience with power measurements is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with power-management techniques such as dynamic clock and power gating and dynamic voltage frequency scaling.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive improvements in silicon-based characterization methodology.
  • Design, execute, and communicate plans to perform characterization work.
  • Configure system hardware and software for silicon characterization.
  • Lead failure triage and debug underlying issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve automation tools.
