Job description
The GPU Silicon Characterization Team at Apple focuses on characterizing the behavior of embedded GPUs to optimize power and performance. Team members collaborate closely with various departments to enable world-class GPU technology. The role involves planning, executing, and validating power and performance features within the embedded GPU. Candidates will engage in test planning, execution, data analysis, and tool development to enhance GPU performance and efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience working with GPU or CPU architectures
- Experience with power and performance estimation and optimization
- Experience working in a lab environment
- Proficiency in Python
- Familiarity with power-management techniques such as dynamic clock and power gating
- Experience debugging hardware and software issues in embedded systems
- Skills in data analysis and visualization
- Experience with performance monitor features
- Experience with power measurements
- Expertise in system and SoC architectures
Responsibilities
- Identify and drive improvements in silicon-based characterization methodology
- Design, execute, and communicate plans for characterization work
- Configure system hardware and software for silicon characterization
- Lead failure triage and debugging of underlying issues
- Develop, maintain, and improve automation tools
