Job description

The GPU Silicon Characterization Team at Apple focuses on characterizing the behavior of embedded GPUs to optimize power and performance. This role involves collaboration with design, verification, productization, hardware, and software teams to enable high-quality GPUs. The main responsibilities include planning and executing validation plans, analyzing data, and developing automation tools. The team aims to maximize performance while minimizing power usage for current and future Apple embedded GPUs.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with power and performance estimation and optimization
  • Experience working in a lab environment
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization
  • Familiarity with power-management techniques such as dynamic clock & power gating and dynamic voltage frequency scaling

Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive improvements in silicon-based characterization methodology
  • Design, execute, and communicate plans to perform characterization work
  • Configure system hardware and software for silicon characterization
  • Lead failure triage and debug of underlying issues
  • Develop, maintain, and improve automation tools
