Job description

This role is part of the SOC Silicon Validation team within Apple's Silicon Technologies group, focusing on system-level validation of high-speed IO IP blocks. The team collaborates closely with various departments to ensure the functionality and performance of next-generation processors and system-on-chip (SoC) designs. The position involves defining validation plans, debugging SOC issues, and coordinating test runs. Candidates will contribute to delivering high-quality functional products that enhance user experiences across Apple devices.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree with 0 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with embedded systems is required.
  • Familiarity with SoC and system architecture is necessary.
  • Knowledge and experience working with board schematics are essential.
  • Experience using test equipment and analyzers such as USB, PCIe, DP, and I2C is required.
  • High knowledge and experience with high-speed interfaces like USB-PD, USB2.0, USB3.0, Thunderbolt 3, USB4.0, PCIE, or DP is required.
  • Proven experience in silicon bring-up, debugging, validation, and characterization is necessary.
  • In-depth understanding of PHY design, architecture, adaptations, and equalization techniques is required.
  • Strong hands-on software programming skills with a focus on embedded systems are essential, with proficiency in C programming.
  • Skilled in scripting, preferably in Python, to automate testing and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software to validate high-speed IO IP blocks.
  • Define validation plans and coordinate the execution of tests.
  • Bring up and debug SOC issues.
  • Collaborate with SiVal, FW, Architecture, and Design teams to ensure product functionality.
  • Contribute to the rapid delivery of high-quality functional products to customers.
