Job description

Join the Core Location team to design and build the future of device location APIs across all Apple platforms. This role involves understanding API usage, identifying problems, and collaborating to create solutions. You will work with system processes and SDK frameworks while partnering with domain specialists in positioning science. The focus is on enhancing Core Location for both Apple customers and developers.

Requirements

  • You have 2 years of development experience in C or C++.
  • You have a deep understanding of multi-threaded programming and synchronization.
  • You're experienced in overall operating system design and implementation.
  • You have a BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have development experience in Objective-C and Swift.
  • You're experienced in designing and then supporting APIs.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the usage of the API both internally at Apple and by external developers.
  • Identify problems and needs related to the API and system processes.
  • Collaborate with domain specialists to enhance positioning science.
  • Support app teams in building new features with Core Location.
  • Work collaboratively to meet shared objectives and handle conflict situations effectively.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
