The Senior Software Engineer for Embedded Systems at Google will be a key member of the Google Thread Border Router team, focusing on the design and development of the device-side Connectivity stack and Software Development Kit (SDK). This role requires expertise in embedded systems and operating systems, particularly within Linux and Android environments. The team aims to enhance connectivity solutions for various smart home devices, contributing to Google's mission of creating a helpful home. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in software engineering, focusing on embedded systems, operating systems, or system architecture.
• 3 years of experience with Android or Linux internals, including kernel, drivers, and system services.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience in C/C++ programming.

• Contribute to the Google Thread Border Router devices, their connectivity stack, and SDK for products including smart displays and Wi-Fi routers.
• Lead the design and development of network connectivity software solutions for embedded systems running on Linux and Android.
• Profile and debug complex system-level issues related to performance, power, and stability in Android/Linux environments.
• Leverage and apply Gen-AI productivity tools for development and debugging.
• Collaborate with first-party hardware and software teams to ensure successful implementation of the SDK.
