The Customer Engineer for the Platform in the SLED sector at Google Public Sector will work closely with technical sales teams to showcase the capabilities of Google Cloud to higher education customers. This role involves developing innovative cloud solutions and architectures to address business challenges, while also engaging in proofs of concept and troubleshooting technical issues. The position is part of a team dedicated to supporting public sector institutions in their digital transformation efforts. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and customer engagement skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
- Experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise infrastructure engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify business opportunities and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers.
- Manage the technical relationship with Google’s higher education customers, including product briefings and proof-of-concept work.
- Demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer environments.
- Recommend integration strategies and enterprise architectures for successful implementation of solutions on Google Cloud.
- Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required.
