Job description
The Memory System Architect role at Google focuses on developing custom silicon solutions for consumer products. The position involves shaping the future of coherent memory systems for System on Chips (SoCs) by leveraging technical expertise in design and micro-architecture. This role will directly impact the performance and efficiency of next-generation devices. The architect will collaborate with hardware designers and validation teams to create advanced hardware architectures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in micro-architecture and design of ASIC blocks.
- Experience in designing and implementing Register-Transfer Level (RTL) for blocks such as CPUs, GPUs, caches, or Memory Management Units.
- Experience in micro-architecture/design performance analysis, tools, and simulators.
Responsibilities
- Explore and evaluate different micro-architecture and design choices for power- and performance-efficient memory systems.
- Author hardware micro-architecture specifications for next-generation memory systems.
- Analyze performance and power trade-offs in memory system designs.
- Collaborate with hardware design, verification, emulation, and validation teams to build and test hardware architecture.
