Job description
The Sensors Hardware Engineer role at Google focuses on developing innovative sensing systems for consumer hardware, particularly in health applications. The team is responsible for pioneering technologies such as Photoplethysmogram (PPG), Electrocardiogram (ECG), and Electromyogram (EMG) sensors. This position involves collaboration across various teams to refine sensor technologies and enhance user experiences through electrical engineering. The engineer will also prototype new hardware and analyze sensor data to derive valuable insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience working in sensor design, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to support hardware builds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, prototype, and validate electrical design of health sensors.
- Create and review analog/digital circuit schematics and layouts relative to sensors.
- Examine distributions and set manufacturing limits.
- Conduct failure analysis and debug units created at the build.
- Write engineering requirements specifications and engineering reports for projects.
