Job description

The Display Mechanical Engineer will be part of a team focused on developing high-performance display modules for various devices, including smartphones and watches. This role involves leveraging mechanical engineering expertise to analyze and validate display performance during manufacturing and reliability testing. The team aims to innovate and improve designs and processes to meet market demands. The engineer will contribute to shaping the next generation of hardware experiences at Google.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical design, simulation analysis, and validation.
  • Experience with flat panel OLED display and related module processes and failure modes.
  • Experience with mechanical fundamentals such as solid mechanics, mechanics of materials, and viscoelasticity.

Responsibilities

  • Design display modules based on optical, electrical, and system integration requirements.
  • Lead display architecture development and introduce new technology, material/stack up, and integration solutions.
  • Drive design validation, failure analysis, and root causing efforts, proposing solutions based on analytical data.
  • Conduct FEA simulations including static, dynamic, structural, and thermal analysis to evaluate designs and specifications.
