Job description
The Senior Data Center Mechanical Engineer role at Google focuses on overseeing the design, construction, and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical distribution systems for data centers. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in design, construction, and commissioning of chilled water cooling systems, air handling systems, fire suppression systems, plumbing systems, or underground utilities.
- 5 years of experience with electro/mechanical assembly and mechanical testing procedures.
- 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
- 5 years of experience with data center operations and working with mechanical contractors.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to data center services and operations teams.
- Collaborate with core teams to develop and manage mechanical designs for new data center projects.
- Respond to site-specific engineering requests for information in coordination with the engineer of record.
- Manage site-level mechanical system issues during project execution.
- Participate in new technology insertions by providing site-specific requirements.
