Job description
The Senior Mechanical Engineer at One MHS will develop innovative hardware systems for material handling solutions and enhance existing hardware to optimize performance. This role requires a candidate with experience in designing and troubleshooting custom electro-mechanical systems. The team focuses on collaboration and consistency across Amazon's network, aiming to improve operational uptime and customer experience. The position offers opportunities to work with various teams and contribute to impactful projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design and advanced assemblies
- Experience in hardware design and validation of components, subsystems, and systems
- Experience leading the mechanical detailed design of electro-mechanical systems
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent is preferred
- Experience with Industrial control systems, both hardware and software
- Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO's
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative and complex hardware systems for emerging material handling solutions
- Improve existing hardware to optimize performance and enhance customer experience
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production
- Own the detailed design and performance of electro-mechanical systems
- Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality organizations to ensure smooth product launch
- Write functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
- Exhibit role model behaviors of mechanical engineering best practices and thorough engineering analysis
