Job description

The Alexa AI team is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to enhance capabilities in fine tuning, distillation, and LLM Inference. This role involves working on machine learning platforms focused on LLM training, production deployment, and optimizations. The team, Central Analytics and Research Science (CARS), aims to improve Conversational AI by evaluating customer interactions with assistants. Candidates should have a strong machine learning background and a commitment to teamwork and communication.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience working with PyTorch or JAX software
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience developing large model hosting platforms and optimizing inference systems
  • Experience developing and maintaining MLOps tools in large organizations

Responsibilities

  • Investigate design approaches and prototype new technology with team engineers
  • Work closely with Applied Scientists to process data and scale machine learning models
  • Deliver high quality software in an Agile/Scrum environment
