Job description

The Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) is responsible for overseeing the testing and validation of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team to ensure construction quality aligns with engineering designs and customer requirements. The CxE will manage third-party vendors, lead Factory Witness Testing, and continuously audit activities for compliance with safety and quality standards. This position requires a proactive approach to resolving technical issues and improving commissioning processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years of relevant discipline work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers or power generation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in high stress environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing
  • Manage third-party commissioning vendors during onsite testing
  • Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Report on the status of ongoing projects and communicate lessons learned
