Job description

The Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) is responsible for overseeing the testing and validation of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team to ensure construction quality meets engineering designs and customer requirements. The CxE will manage third-party vendors and lead Factory Witness Testing while addressing technical issues and improving program quality. The position requires a commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years of relevant discipline work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in high stress environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
  • Manage third-party commissioning vendors during onsite testing
  • Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Communicate lessons learned and report on the status of ongoing projects
