Job description
The Systems Engineer role within Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) team focuses on deploying advanced industrial automation and robotics technologies across North America. This position involves extensive travel, with the expectation of being on-site for project installations and collaborations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in managing complex electro-mechanical systems. The team is dedicated to improving customer fulfillment processes through innovative robotics solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
- 1-3 years of experience working in a field engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
- Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems to resolve escalations including quality hand-off and operational readiness testing
- Practical understanding of network fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, and switching
Responsibilities
- Oversee large scale project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies
- Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers
- Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management
- Lead teams of other engineers on projects and ensure alignment on program status
