The Systems Engineer role within Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) team focuses on deploying advanced industrial automation and robotics technologies across North America. This position involves extensive travel, with the expectation of being on-site for project installations and collaborations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in managing complex electro-mechanical systems. The team is dedicated to improving customer fulfillment processes through innovative robotics solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a field engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
  • Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems to resolve escalations including quality hand-off and operational readiness testing
  • Practical understanding of network fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, and switching

Responsibilities

  • Oversee large scale project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies
  • Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers
  • Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management
  • Lead teams of other engineers on projects and ensure alignment on program status

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
