Job description

The Senior Performance Engineer will lead the testing and optimization of advanced mechatronic automation systems within a cross-functional team at Amazon. This role focuses on designing experiments to validate machine performance and drive design improvements through statistical analysis. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to ensure products exceed customer expectations and influence automation architecture decisions. The position offers the opportunity to impact product design and enhance operational efficiency in logistics automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent industrial background
  • 5+ years of demonstrated Engineering experience in an automation, robotics, or manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of engineering project management experience
  • Experience with complex projects in operations, processes, or performance improvement
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience in PLC programming
  • Experience with EAM Tools
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive experiments to validate machine performance and establish operational boundaries.
  • Apply statistical methods to analyze test results and troubleshoot complex process issues.
  • Develop innovative solutions to drive design improvements.
  • Create structured test plans and conduct rigorous performance evaluations.
  • Identify system limitations and translate technical findings into actionable business insights.
  • Build self-service tools to streamline testing procedures and maintain detailed documentation of testing protocols and results.
