·FY 2025Job description
As a Systems Integration Engineer at AWS, you will bridge software simulation environments and physical hardware, ensuring control systems and mechanical infrastructure perform as intended before deployment. You will work within a diverse team to deliver high safety and security standards while providing scalable capacity for customers. Your role will focus on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, preventing costly field failures and accelerating product deployment. You will also develop institutional validation frameworks that enhance global datacenter programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Industrial Automation.
- 6+ years of experience in systems integration, HIL testing, or systems validation, preferably in data center or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating HIL test rigs, including real-time simulation platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with PLCs, BMS controllers, firmware, and SCADA systems in a closed-loop test environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and build HIL test environments that replicate realistic datacenter loading scenarios.
- Own the integration layer between physical hardware and software simulations ensuring bidirectional signal fidelity.
- Develop and execute integration test plans covering functional verification, stress testing, and fault injection.
- Define and maintain Design Verification Plans and acceptance criteria for integrated system behavior.
- Automate HIL test workflows using Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent tools.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis on integration failures by reproducing failure modes in the HIL environment.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align on integration requirements and deployment readiness criteria.
- Build and maintain simulation-hardware co-validation frameworks for new technology adoption.
- Develop institutional HIL standards that scale across datacenter programs and product generations.
- Support commissioning and operational readiness by translating HIL validation findings into field deployment guidance.
Benefits
- Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
