Job description

The role is for a Software Development Engineer in the Amazon Aurora DSQL team, focusing on building a serverless, distributed SQL database. The team is dedicated to solving complex engineering problems and ensuring seamless scaling of the product. The ideal candidate will work on defining and implementing service APIs and integrating Aurora DSQL into the AWS ecosystem. This position offers the opportunity to innovate and contribute to a rapidly growing service with high availability and performance standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building the cellular platform for Aurora DSQL
  • Define and implement service APIs that influence customer interactions with the service
  • Work on projects that secure and embed Aurora DSQL into the overall AWS ecosystem
  • Solve highly complex engineering problems related to the service
  • Ensure seamless scaling of the product
