The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will lead geotechnical engineering efforts for new site developments within AWS Infrastructure Services. This role involves collaborating with various internal teams to ensure design requirements are met while maintaining high performance standards. The engineer will be responsible for overseeing geotechnical investigations and managing deliverables for successful design execution. The position is part of a diverse team focused on innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce budgets.

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License.
• 10+ years of professional experience in geotechnical site characterization, design, and construction.
• Experience in oversight and management of subsurface investigation programs.
• Experience in planning and execution of geotechnical laboratory testing regimes.
• Ability to perform design calculations for pavements, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, and support for excavation.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders during the due diligence and pre-design phases to oversee the process and ensure design requirements are considered.
• Lead due diligence and pre-design geotechnical investigations, managing internal partners and external vendor consultants.
• Ensure design ready geotechnical deliverables are completed and handed over for successful design execution.
• Provide engineering design decisions to partner teams for strategic planning and region selection.
• Collaborate with other teams developing new data center infrastructure products and assess how various design types can be deployed for site development projects.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with people from a wide range of technical abilities and backgrounds.
