The Sr. Hardware Development Engineer will join the AWS Rack Power team, which is focused on innovating power systems for Amazon Web Services. This role involves debugging and validating power systems, collaborating with hardware, firmware, and software teams to troubleshoot technical issues. The engineer will also propose design improvements based on test results and contribute to the architecture of future AWS technologies. The position emphasizes a commitment to safety, security, and delivering high-quality customer experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or experience with low power design techniques.
- Experience with lab-based user testing, remote testing, and iterative prototype testing.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles including switchgear, UPS, transformers, and circuit breakers.
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
Responsibilities
- Debug and validate power systems including battery management systems and power supplies.
- Own the product's end-to-end development cycle.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software development teams on troubleshooting.
- Design automation via test scripts and applications.
- Write test reports and perform board level testing and functional verification of power sub-systems.
- Support hardware/software integration testing and firmware regression.
