Job description

Amazon is seeking a Senior Systems Development Engineer to support the Amazon Logistics Worldwide Central Engineering team. This role focuses on challenging existing processes and developing innovative solutions for delivery stations, particularly in AB PLC/HMI and vision systems. The engineer will contribute to the entire systems development life cycle, including design, architecture, and testing. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead projects that enhance the intelligence of Amazon's last mile business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of industrial controls and automation experience
  • 2+ years of experience directly developing control strategies in CODESYS
  • Demonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards such as IEC 62061, IEC 13849, or IEC 61508
  • 2+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement complex control systems using Allen Bradley PLCs and CODESYS
  • Develop hardware/firmware interfaces and IoT solutions
  • Create and maintain PLC/IPC/HMI software and vision systems
  • Establish electrical and controls design standards
  • Manage multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously
  • Lead technical design reviews for control systems and simulations
  • Coordinate with global design teams and vendors
  • Drive process improvements and technical implementation
  • Review and integrate new Material Handling Equipment technologies
