Job description

The role is for an engineer focused on enhancing the query optimization and execution layer of Amazon Aurora DSQL, a serverless distributed SQL database. The team values collaboration and mentorship, providing a supportive environment for both new and experienced members. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database system internals and query optimization. This position involves solving complex technical problems and designing innovative software solutions to improve service performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 4+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
  • Strong background in database system internals and query processing fundamentals
  • 2+ years of experience with query optimizer architectures and cost-based optimizers in OLTP database engines
