Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer role at Annapurna Labs focuses on leading the manufacturing of AI servers and systems utilizing Trainium chips. The position is part of the Manufacturing, Quality, and Reliability Team, which is dedicated to developing cutting-edge machine learning products for a major cloud services provider. The successful candidate will work closely with system engineering teams and external partners to ensure product quality and drive manufacturing process improvements. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration within a dynamic team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience identifying bugs in architecture, algorithms, functionality, and performance with strong overall debugging skills
  • Experience verifying at multiple levels of logic from IP blocks to SoCs to full system testing
  • Master's degree in Electrical or Communications Engineering or a related field is preferred
  • Experience with formal verification techniques including abstraction and end-to-end checking
  • Experience with ARM and various DSP ISAs
  • Experience with current and upcoming RF standards in cellular (4G/5G NR), WiMAX, 802.11ad, microwave backhaul, or related broadband wireless standards
  • Experience with industry standard tools and scripting languages (Python or Perl) for automation

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the test validation of future technologies.
  • Drive manufacturing process improvements to address reliability issues and concerns.
  • Qualify manufacturing lines and mechanisms for mass production.
  • Lead identifying and validating product/component risks and work with design teams to mitigate them.
  • Define the test methodology and test coverage to assure product quality.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.
  • Work with multiple vendors and ODMs to standardize component manufacturing and reliability expectations.
  • Evaluate, investigate and introduce new manufacturing technology and methodology to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
  • Develop or adapt manufacturing processes at the ODM and CM, including defining fixture requirements and critical assembly requirements.
  • Drive all factory-related operational issues related to assembly processes during pre-production builds.
  • Manage product lifecycle changes and lead product quality and reliability improvement projects.
  • Implement and optimize manufacturing first pass yields and efficiency from prototype through product ramp.
  • Support cost reduction and sustaining activities.
