Job description

The Systems Development Engineer role at Amazon Robotics focuses on developing sophisticated scripts and cloud-native solutions for commissioning and testing robotic systems. Requirements

  • 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent STEM field
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Knowledge of a front-end language such as JavaScript, CSS, or HTML
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Knowledge of database systems and SQL
  • Demonstrated ability to combine controls and software systems engineering skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain commissioning packages that include scripts, validation procedures, and deployment documentation for robotic systems.
  • Create AWS-based automation scripts for deployment workflows, system monitoring, and infrastructure management.
  • Develop front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for commissioning dashboards and testing tools.
  • Work with internal and external engineering teams to successfully deliver high-quality cross-functional development work.
  • Participate in design reviews and support execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors.
  • Communicate project status and produce clear summaries for the projects owned.
  • Capture and synthesize the Voice of Customer for new product introductions to prioritize system defects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
  • Work within agile methodologies, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Travel up to 75% throughout North America based on peak seasons.
