The Sr. Mechanical Engineer role at AWS involves designing and implementing energy-efficient mechanical systems for data centers. • 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, or BIM 360
• CFD modeling and analysis experience
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License is preferred
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region

• Design and implement energy-efficient mechanical systems for data centers
• Partner with teams to develop innovative cooling solutions and sustainability initiatives
• Create comprehensive documentation for mechanical designs and operational procedures
• Guide project teams through planning, execution, and commissioning phases
• Conceive, initiate, and lead projects with widespread impact on infrastructure design
• Collaborate with teams from various disciplines and cultures
• Review and approve critical equipment submittals including vendor Witness Tests
• Provide technical support on global Large Scale Events (LSE’s)
• Maintain and host technical mechanical forums for collaborative development
• Provide support and mentorship for the Data Center Engineering community
