The Physical Security Engineer at AWS is responsible for designing safe and secure Data Center facilities across the Americas Region. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance security standards while ensuring cost-effectiveness. The engineer will lead security designs, provide technical guidance, and communicate requirements to project partners. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field
• 7+ years of physical security engineering experience in industrial or commercial facilities
• 2+ years of physical security engineering experience in mission critical facilities including data centers
• Experience carrying physical security design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
• ASIS Physical Security Professional Certification (PSP) certification
• Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) certification
• Experience in construction administration and commissioning
• Experience working with and managing third party vendors and consultants
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region

• Lead designs for physical security elements for Data Center projects.
• Collaborate with other security organizations within AWS to develop design standards.
• Communicate conceptual designs to internal stakeholders and external consultants.
• Participate in the maintenance of basis of design documents and template specifications.
• Create security design scope of work for Data Center project RFPs.
• Review and direct the work of physical security engineering design consultants.
• Manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
• Travel for site assessments and internal design meetings, not to exceed 20%.
