Job description

The Senior Software Development Engineer will lead the design and implementation of distributed AI data pipelines and systems within the Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases team. This role focuses on providing technical leadership and owning team-level architecture for large-scale distributed systems. The team aims to innovate in the field of Generative AI and Retrieval Augmented Generation, working closely with AI Applied Scientists and engineers. The position offers an opportunity to influence the team's long-term technical roadmap while mentoring the next generation of technical talent.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of distributed AI data pipelines and systems
  • Balance speed of execution with architectural requirements
  • Drive adoption of engineering best practices and operational excellence across the team
  • Solve complex technical problems with multiple risks and roadblocks
  • Mentor and coach multiple engineers
